Candice and Kyle's photographer called me a couple of days before the wedding and asked if I could shoot for her in Lake Tahoe because she had fallen sick. At this time, I was just starting out in my full time career as a wedding photographer, but I was confident I could do it. Thankfully, my husband was fully supportive and came along with me to assist and encourage. What a man!
The day started out with getting ready photos at a lovely log cabin and condo for the guys. The girls had so much fun fixing each other's hair and the makeup while the makeup and hairstylist worked on Candice and her mom. The flower girls enjoyed showing me their twirly dresses and everyone was in the best mood! The boys at the condo were having fun, sharing stories about their friend, the groom and getting ready. The space was tight, but I was able to fit everyone into group shots.
The first look took place right behind the venue in a natural green space. The pines and trails were perfect for this portrait session and the photos turned out so pretty.
There was a large front lawn at the venue where we could fit all the family in for family photos. My husband was great at calling the next people in for each shot. I was so glad he was there!
The ceremony was beautiful and their simple bohemian decor made these portraits so pretty. Bridal party shots followed the wedding and then the fun reception. It got dark slowly after the party started, so many of the dancing shots were with my flash. If you're looking for a venue near Incline Village, the Aspen Grove Community Center is beautiful and worth the investment!
